MAGC Graduate and Retirement Account Donor
Emily, a graduate of the Global Communications program, former Graduate Student Council President, and current member of the AUP Outreach and Advancement team, understands the profound impact of an AUP education.
She was moved to make AUP part of her long-term plans during the Covid-19 pandemic, after seeing how crucial donor support is to small Universities like AUP during times of economic hardship. By designating AUP as a beneficiary of her retirement account, Emily hopes to support future generations of AUP students, and to preserve the style of learning that makes these students critical thinkers and tomorrow’s leaders. Emily explained “I think AUP has something really special to offer and I think it creates the kind of people who are able to make big changes in the world and able to drive conversations – at the heart of which are inclusion, openness, and acceptance of cultural differences. I think the world needs more of that.”
Emily urges her peers to consider a Planned Gift to AUP, stating “Right now I don’t make a huge salary, so I’m not in a reasonable position to be giving monthly to AUP, which is something I would like to do. However, I can set up this very easy way to ensure that AUP is a beneficiary of my retirement account. By designating even a modest percentage I can make a meaningful contribution to AUP, even if I can’t help right away.”
